I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out the intro to Keith Whitley's "I Never Go Around Mirrors" The lead is tabbed very well at http://users.interlinks.net/rebel/steel/1988.html (Thanks Rebel, Ricky, and Jeff) There is also a sound clip of the intro there. I should mention that I am obviously a beginner at PSG. I can't get enough, though. I love this crazy thing. Anyway, below is my attempt at this intro. I really don't think it's right, though. Is it really just single notes at a time? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey no worries Brian> as you will see with that tab I wrote; I did the intro and all the licks Mike Johnson played throughout the song. Also note: that my tab indicates "L" and "LL" as one L is lower a half tone and two L's is lower a whole tone...enjoy.

Ricky,
You write that Mike lowers his 5 a whole tone.
Do you know if he has that instead of the half tone lower, or in addition to it?
If he has both, do you know where he put the whole tone lower?

Charles I'm sorry I don't know for sure. I can only speculate that he has the 5th string lower a whole tone with a half stop feel; as I've set that up on many guitars and sets up real well. The location of any knee levers is personal opinion of how one likes to play and have it laid out. "If you can imagine it; you can have it"

Hi Ricky,
Sorry about the dum-dum question. I should have read the whole thread. I put the Franklin change on my LeGrande's pedal 4 a couple of weeks ago. I'm just not used to thinking about it yet.
I see what people mean about splitting the Franklin change onto knees. No way I'm going to hit pedal 1 and immediately follow with pedal 4 in real time.
That's an excellent idea, I've got the 5 & 10 half step lower on LKV. It would be easy to add a 1/2 stop. I will look at that instead of the Franklin pedal when I re-work my push/pull (any day now  .
