When I started playing guitar (on real gigs) I had 3-4 licks that I "wore out". Man, I made those licks fit anything,,,and they got me by until I could acculmulate some more. I'm sure there are PSG players out there that can relate to this. I'd like to see (and I'm sure others would) those licks that you wore out,,,the ones you made fit anything,,,the ones that saved your bacon !! Com'on guys,,,what were the licks that got you by until,,,,,,,,

That's beautiful and there is a very good reason behind that lick>when getting lost.

Yeah Ricky, guilty, I admit it.... See, all those one-on-one sessions are startin' to pay off Some 'famous' D-FW player once told me you'll get a lot of gigs if you know when to shut up.

If I gotta play something, I always end up on the AB pedal combo stuff.

I like the tab, too, Bill. Perhaps the Miles Davis approach. However, I'm going to be careful here - last time I commented on the tab for the One Note Samba, there was a big hoopla!

Bill, I'm new to PSG, but I've used that exact lick on standard guitar for years, for the exact same reasons.

Is it originally a PSG lick? You rarely hear 6-stringers attempt it, and I've sure never heard it on a banjo!

Hey Steve, I think I jumped in on that 'One Note Samba' thing too... oops.

Joel, I'm not sure about it being a PSG lick originally, but the guitar player in the last band I worked with sure didn't know it...

I was fooling around with Fred's lick and found it makes a pretty good ending for a pedals down chord. After you release the A pedal on string 5, play string 6, then string 5 again with the pedal down, then strings 3-4-5 with bothe A&B pedals down

Thanks for noticing. This is what it's all about. This type of thing makes for a wonderful jam session. I'm just an ol' country picker who has lots of licks in my head and thanks to this forum, I know how to tab, so I'll be on here with more stuff as long as there is someone interested. Is this a phrase to take you from your root chord to the relative off-chord? In this case C to D.
