Modal/Rock tuning I-V-I-V-I-V
I am curious if anyone plays anything similar to this tuning? Something like this guy uses for slide

He uses a 5 string version B-F#-B-F#-B. Honestly think whatever you want of him or his lifestyle, he really rocks. He sounds like an entire band! Saw him first on Ted Lasso and got curious. Anyway this tuning seems like it could work really well for steel. It's a power chord!

Yes, it is essentially Hindustani tuning pitched down. I have recorded some stuff with it but not sure I want to post it.

Only 5 strings, no high F# note. A bit like an open C tuning that Richard Thompson and others use.
CGCGCE, where the high note is easily retuned to D or D# or E or maybe even F

GFI Expo S-10PE, Sho-Bud 6139, Fender 2x8 Stringmaster, Supro consoles, Dobro. And more.

Ok that makes sense. I knew this seemed like a familiar idea. It seems a lot of people are trying to figure out some magical combination of notes that makes this instrument more versatile. This is kind of the opposite idea. It strips out everything and leaves complete ambiguity. Very versatile, as these notes can imply almost anything. If you just want to rock, this could be the answer.
