Larry Hight, the current steel player with the band Ricochet plays lead guitar and steel guitar. He and lead singer/guitarist Heath Wright are both great lead players. When Ricochet performs their song "Daddy's Money" in concert now, Heath plays fiddle and Larry Hight switches between lead guitar and steel guitar. Junior Brown plays lead and steel with his guitsteel. He has a pedal guitsteel, which is a Stevens electric guitar and a Sho-Bud pedal steel guitar. With the original guitsteel, he plays lead and steel on every song

Dick Meis (RIP) made a career of playing steel with a guitar on his lap, so a lot of Denver-area players have tried it. It kinda-sorta works and I've done it a few times.

Tried it last night. Easy peasy just used a good AB switch. I'd post a Pic if I could.

I try this sometimes and it seems like the hardest part is deciding which picks to commit to
