Upstate SC Pedal Steel Jam Session
I will be holding a Pedal Steel Guitar Jam Session at Newry Church of God in Seneca, SC on Saturday February 8, beginning at 10 AM. Special Guest will be the one and only Steve "Rabbit" Easter. Steve traveled several years with the Happy Goodman Family and has been featured on the Gaither Homecoming Videos. His style of playing is comparable to the great John Hughey.
Also featured will be Joe Turner, former player for the Malpass Brothers. Several steel players are expected to be here along with a live rhythm section. The physical address is 234 Newry Road Seneca, SC. Free Admission.

Hey Tony, I’m in Six Mile and just saw this thread advertising the gathering. Assuming it’s still on, I’d like to try and be there if I can. I’m a couple months into learning pedal steel and would love to see some up close playing. I do want to ask…would I be out of place to bring my steel and amp? Obviously I’m no professional player but wasn’t sure if this was open like a workshop or more of a ‘sit and listen’ event. Either way is completely fine but wanted to check before lugging around my stuff.

I had such a great time today. I appreciate everyone being so welcoming and encouraging to me as a brand new player. Getting to meet and hear several great steel players was awesome. Thanks to Tony and everyone who made this get together happen. I look forward to doing something like that again sometime. Hopefully I’ll be better by then!

Steel Jam
A great big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this amazing event. We had seven (7) Pedal Steel players, and a six man Rhythm section that was tight in the pocket! We’ll just have to do this again sometime!

I don't login to the forum often enougn, I suppose.
Missed this great opportunity in the Upstate.
I live in Seneca and am trying to learn pedal steel. Good to see that there are some local players!
Hope this event was good and maybe I will be able to make the next one!
