Early example of Mike Long’s remarkable craftsmanship in his quest to achieve the pre-war sound in his guitars.

This particular dreadnought has a large soundhole which creates enhanced bass clarity, response, and presence. Relative to other rosewood D’s I’ve played, the dynamics and projection are excellent with improved tonal balance bass to treble without boominess.

* Model: HD-28LS (large soundhole)
* Body size: Dreadnought
* Finish: Natural (aged)
* Adjustable truss rod
* Made: 1990’s

* Back / Sides: (dark) Indian Rosewood

* Neck/Fingerboard: Mahogany Neck with Ebony Fingerboard
* Fingerboard Radius: 16"
* Brace Pattern: Rear-shifted X
* Tuners: Original Grover
* Bridge: Ebony
* Scale Length: 25.4"

Unfortunately, Mike suffered a stroke in 2015 and no longer makes guitars. Long dreadnoughts are hard to come by, primarily because those who own them tend to hang onto them. I’m selling this guitar because I just don’t play it much these days, and it really needs to go to someone who will give it the attention and appreciation it deserves.

Similar Long 90’s HD28 (reg soundhole) at Carter’s Vintage in Nashville listed for $3,000.

Price is firm. Not interested in trades.
