Very sorry to hear of the passing today of Charlie Stepp's wife Margit. Many great visits with them in Louisville while on tour. I remember her helping me with my German before our dates in Germany. Wonderful couple together again.

I was always dreading to read this. Margit was so kind. I'll cherish the morning visits at her kitchen table with coffee and German goodies. She's with her Charlie again.

Margit was an incredibly smart, warm and thoughtful woman. She and Charlie complimented each other like no other couple I knew. My sincere condolences to Margit’s children and grandchildren.

Margit was a sweet lady. She always made me feel welcome in her home. I, like many other local steelers, would just stop by the steel shop to visit and chat with Charlie but when he wasn't inside the shop, they would always invite me in for a cup of coffee.

They were very nice to me and helped me out a lot in rough times. I miss them and I'm sorry they had to go.

Condolences to Jaynette and Charlie and the other family members I didn't know.

Thus the end of the Derby legacy. RIP folks.
