Here is an interesting new interview with Chris Scruggs. Chris is an excellent non-pedal player and discussed how he got started, a lot of history of early players, how he developed his tunings, the gear he uses and so on.

I really enjoyed this interview. Chris is seriously talented and capable of proving the skills needed to play non pedal steel. He can mimic the styles of the greats.
