There was so much creativity and experimentation going on at this time. The Gibson designs are so gorgeous. Just stunning craftsmanship. They have a massive early Gibson collection at the Music Museum in Vermillion South Dakota. I have never seen anything like is one! Perfect instrument for Rory Hoffman.

Looking at the picture now you can see it’s the same guitar. Duh. I’m not responding to any more posts today. It is not safe!

I appreciate the attention to details on the part of the photo editor, like switching around the tuner buttons, and the screw on the inner pickguard!
The contour could double as a chin rest on this guitar.

This may be a forerunner of the guitsteel.

https://www.framus-vintage.de/en/0-20-Electro-Universal/0-20-Electro-Universal/

The 6 string has a rounded neck (although pretty chunky) and if you slide through the pictures you'll see a detachable leg rest for normal playing.

I had one and it didn't really work for me. When one switched from normal to lap playing it always felt that the 8 string squareneck should be farther away.

It sounded pretty awful due to the lousy pickup. I sold it during COVID time. No regrets!
