my good friend Bruce Heffner, 73, went to play in heaven Jan 8, 2024. Bruce was a great guy and always willing to help new players. he's formally from Hamburg PA, where he would host steel jams on Thursday nights starting in the mid 90's.
He moved to Payson Az when he retired. Bruce's good friend Tommy Vollmer recently passed in 2023. they were the driving force of the jams. great times and memories. many great steelers passed through the log cabin behind his house.

I knew Bruce since 1977. We actually purchased new Webb amps from Fred ‘s Music Reading,PA. I loved jamming at his “log cabin” in Hamburg. RIP my friend. |

Condolences to the family and Wally's close friends.
I'm not sure if we ever met, but I've seen him around since at least the mid 70s. He's been a large figure in the steel guitar world for many years...from his dealing in steel guitar stuff, instruction and steel guitar music to some of the shows.
RIP Wally. |

I echo Andrew‘s sentiments. Sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing. I spent many pleasant evenings when he lived in Hamburg, PA, jamming with the rest of the guys. It was a pretty long drive for me, so I didn’t get out there as often as I would have liked to, but it was always a fun time and I was sorry when he moved away.
My condolences to his friends and family. I hope his little dog is in good hands. They were inseparable. _________________ www.JimCohen.com

Sad news, spent many an hour in the little wooden shop picking and talking shop.
Last time I saw Bruce was at his home in Payson a few years back. He was a great representative of the steel guitar world and country music. RIP Wally….[/quote] _________________ Gordy Rex
