A local musician asked me if I would put this up for sale. Its a 7 string lap steel.
Built from a machined chunk of aluminum, it has some weight to it. 2 pickups with a volume, and pickup selector switch as it’s electronic setup.
I do not know much about this steel, except that it was built in the Northwest Region by Wayne Johnson.
I reworked this lap steel this morning to a 24" scale and installed a new ZB Fretboard from Tom Bradshaw.
Tuned her to C6th w/ a G on top. sounds real nice!
Very nice Fender Style case.
$350
Thanks!

What was the original scale? String spacing at the nut and bridge? Someone else please buy this. |

Bill, the original scale was 25” and it can easily be reset by moving the nut to where the emblem is now attached. Those mounting holes are the original holes for the nut at 25”. You would need a 25”scale fretboard as well.
Here are a few photos, the string spacing looks to be 2 1/8" at both the nut and bridge.
My friend recalls he paid about a $1000 for this lapsteel.
