I have a George L PF2 in my zum SD10. And I’m pretty happy. But I haven’t tried anything other than the PF2 and the stock single coil.
And I would like to try something like the 710.
But then I read on the forum that the 710 is best when paired with a pot volume pedal. I use a Hilton volume pedal, and it seems like the 910 was designed to work with active volume pedals. But the 910 isn’t that easy to come across.

So. Do you know of a pickup that would lean towards the 710-sound and would work well with an active volume pedal?

Whether a pickup works well with an active or passive volume pedal is largely subjective. I use a Hilton VP most of the time. A couple of pickups you might similar to the 710 are the Lawrence XR16 and GeorgeL's 10-1.

Go ahead and try a 710. You could get in touch with the builder.
When I was switching back and forth between goodrich and Hilton volume pedals and the 710’s and a couple other pickups the volume pedals worked fine with any pickup.

I've been using 710s and XR-16s with both a Hilton and Goodrich LDR-2 pedals for decades and they work fine.

Me too, except for the Decades part. Not using on currently, but REALLY like the 710's

I’ve been using a Hilton then a Telonics pedal with my 710 for years and love the tone.
