May have to go"ampless" for a gig. I do own a G-K MB200 with D.I.
Anyone know if the amp's design allows for running without a speaker?

Apparently, the answer is "go for it"
From the manual:
Speaker: The power amp output to a speaker
cabinet delivers 200w into 4 Ohm loads. Lower
impedances such as 8 Ohms or 16 Ohms and no
load are acceptable. |

Howard,
I did it one night when my amp went belly up and I had the MB200 in my gig bag as a backup. Worked fine without a load. |

Mighty Fine!!
One step closer to saving my aging back.
The post EQ D.I. I am sure will be adequate for this gig. In combination with IEM individual mixes this should be just dandy.

Wanted to report back that the setup worked flawlessly, both from my perspective and from steel players in the audience.
Likey!!!

Guess I don't have an excuse to run out and buy a dedicated DI box! Useful info, thanks Howard. |
