| My prayers for the friends and family. Buck was an inspiration for many of us and his playing was both creative, fresh and inspiring. Loved his work on the Porter Wagoner show. Seen him in Branson some years ago. Fantastic showmanship. RIP Buck Trent. |

We lost another great one. I was always amazed at his ability to use the Scruggs tuners on his electric banjo to emulate steel guitar sounds. I used to watch the Porter Wagoner show in the 70's. I was always confused as to why Buck played the steel guitar sounding licks, and not Don Warden.

So sorry to read this. Buck was a real multi talented and great entertainer person. He will be missed.

Sorry to hear this.  I only met Buck one time, but he was a happy guy, always smiling, with a really unique sound. Here is a song recorded when he just had Scruggs-pegs (before he had the palm pedals put on his banjo). Enjoy Buck and early Pete Drake on this cut.

| I'll never forget what he brought to country music especially as a Wagonmaster. He was unique, gifted, and a true showman. Really, there is no one like him. Porter knew it and that was part of his genius too. RIP Buck !! |

I am as sorry as everyone else is to hear of Buck's passing!
We all loved his music and his lovely personality. A great musician has gone from our shores but on reaching the golden shores he will be well welcomed and the angel bands will be much richer for his expertise.

I will miss Buck but am grateful that Porter featured him on his shows which also elevated Porter's standing.
Buck had a great show in Branson with two young kids playing twin fiddles. One of my favorite Buck events was when he had to follow Carlene Carter and Carl Smith on Nashville Now. Ralph Emory even said "who would want to have to follow those two"? Buck came out, unfazed, and lit the stage on fire with his playing and hopped up showmanship playing his own embellishment of and old Earl Scruggs tune. And how could anyone play that well, move around and still manage to smile ear to ear? |
