SOLD PENDING PAYMENT. Thanks, Tim

Sweet Mid-1940's (1945-49) Rickenbacher Double 6 lap steel (Electro D-12 was the model name/#, I believe). Pretty sure Jocaquin Murphy played one of these for a while. It's pre-50's because the "H" is still in the spelling of "Rickenbacher."

These are pretty rare guitars. Don't see many come up for sale.

Recently been fully serviced, including a rebuilt tone control and new cap (vintage style paper in oil to match original tone). Otherwise all original. Bakelite necks and aluminum body w/ strong horseshoe pickups on both necks.

Super clean, apart from a slight bend on the 4th string, outside neck tuner (tunes just fine; all tuners are smooth, btw). Also a crack on the inside neck, just above the 12th fret (perfectly/expertly repaired by Jim Palenscar of North County Steel Guitars--guaranteed to be 100% structurally sound or your $$ back!).

Plays as good as new and sounds fantastic.

Original Gelb case in fantastic condition.

$649 + actual shipping.

All reasonable offers considered, thanks!

I think it’s completely fantastic, Mark. And if Jim P. welcomed this rare double into his shop, he wouldn’t miss any restorative accuracy. Most others you see have road rash, battle scars…or are missing bits. GLWTS 😎

Thanks, Jon! Yeah, Jim did own this guitar and repaired it brilliantly! This guitar has been quite well looked after!

JIM; It's actually pretty light because of the aluminum body. TBH, no heavier than a single neck Rick bakelite--but I'll weigh it later when I get home for ya!

So did the neck break off completely, or is it just a surface crack?

Sorry... I can't really ship to the UK in a way that isn't really, really expensive.
