Dumb question maybe?? I've been afraid of these things thinking that something could go wrong while wearing them and an incredibly loud noise would deafen me for life-or at least do much harm. Do they have some safety feature built in them that prevents that from happening? Absolutely. Look for systems that feature an adjustable limiter , usually in the receiver.

Never-it will shield you from always needing more from the monitor to overpower the guitar amp next to you so you can hear yourself play. It will protect your hearing. Hearing loss is cumulative-a four hour set is worse than a loud shot that you can turn down. |

I’ve used them for over 20 years and never had an issue with any volume spike that would hurt your ears or damage your hearing. Most iem systems have a limiting feature to protect you from that anyway. Don’t be afraid jump in, the water’s great. 😁😁 |
