Anybody know about this dude?
This is the first time in years that I've heard a pedal player and liked it better than the non-pedal guitar. I like it better than my own playing.
I don't know if it's his tone, or the sound of his guitar or his approach. He has what sounds like a super hot pickup but he plays so clean it's almost unbelievable.
This is exactly what I'm listening for when I hear a C6 player.

He also has a version of the swing tune "Four Brothers". I never thought I would hear that done so well on PSG. I'm blown away!!! As a person who grew up around the steel guitar, it's not easy to just blow me away. This guy does. And then some!!!!

He is the only steel player that has ever caused me to seriously consider leaving the non-pedal steel and changing over to pedals. I'm starting to think the steel has more to do with who's driving rather than the machine itself. I've always heard a certain set of cliche licks played by almost everyone and this has left me thinking the instrument is a matter of mechanics. But Richad Nelson has opened my mind to a whole new set of possibilities. Like the things he plays are coming from his mind rather than all the Rube Goldberg stuff under the instrument.
