Had to jump in again because I can't believe I forgot this one..."You Don't Know Me", a beautiful song written by Cindy Walker. A local singer and guitarist (Chick Hall) always did a great job on this song, and I requested it whenever we crossed paths. Here's a good version by Michael Grimm:

There must be tons of them. I only know lyrics to the 60’s and 70’s songs I grew up with, but I would think the sentiment in question is universal and timeless. Weirdly surprised I can’t think of any country songs. |

"They Never Met" is such a wonderful '60s suburban tune by one of my favorite songsters. The album title, "I'm Everyone I Ever Loved"
is almost a 'never' sort of thing in itself. Perhaps it's a summary of incarnation, but I think it's more of a superlative ego.
