I recently purchased a 1979 SHO~BUD PRO I that has Buddy Emmons and Jeff Newmans signatures engraved on the endplate.

I have seen this on a few PSG's over the years and got to wondering what the story is behind this as far as when and where they did this.

Would appreciate any info and pix of other guitars that have this.

Thanks,

J. D.

A previous owner likely attended Jeffran College in Tennessee.

Don't know the story, but I do know that Buddy did some tutoring at some of Jeff's classes and he dropped in on some. He hung out a couple times while I was there in 1980.

I don't know what time periods they did that though.

I used to own a 1981 Zum I bought used that had the autographs. There have been several posts that show guitars with Buddy and Jeff sigs.

When I attended Jeff’s school in 1981 it was common place for the end plates to be signed—at the request of the owner—by the players. I know where there is a Sho~Bud Super-Pro signed by Lloyd, Jeff, and Buddy……..

Cool! Thanks for weighing in on this Sonny!

I got the guitar from Bill Fawns in IL, who got it from Gary Sill, a Mullen dealer in IL.

I cleaned it up and put my setup on it, 5 X 5. Armrest by Leigh Pollari.

Did you buy it new? Great guitar!

No,,,I bought it from a guitar player in New Braunfels that bought it New and quick gave up on it. I went to Jeffran in early 80s,,it had 3 pedals 2 kl,,,Shot Jackson came over and put an E to F lever on it. Buddy was there a lot that week,,,I think him and Jeff were trying to something,,teaching,,together. Seems like shortly after that there was a lot more distance between them,,,I always just figured,,,,,2 HUGE egos!!!! I traded it in a small music store in New Braunfels for a D10 MSA. Probably 83 or 84.
