Steeltronics Z10 in Emmons PP

I'd like to get some feedback from anyone that has put a Steeltronics Z10 pickup in an Emmons PP, specifically on the E9 neck. This pickup in my Rains has a sweeter top end than the original single coil in my Emmons. I'm just not sure if what I'm hearing is due to the pickups or the very different construction of the guitars.
