I have this 2022 Melbertmaster that is honestly a little large for my apartment and for my playing situations. When we get a house, I'll eventually go towards something like this, but I kind of ordered before I knew what exactly I wanted. That being said, I have this recently made Melbert for $625 with case plus shipping.
8 string MelbertMaster lap steel guitar - no legs
Wood: Cherry w/brown mahogany stain, lacquer clear hand rubbed to a
satin finish
Tuners: Saga F-2075 Deluxe sealed gear tuners 14:1 ratio
Nut and bridge: Phosphor bronze rod .385" string spacing, bridge grounded
Fretboard: Black textured acrylic with white markers, 31 frets
Pickup: George L PF-1
Controls: Volume and tone 500K w/.033 uF tone capacitor
Jack: Pure tone jack w Les Paul black jack plate.
Control plate: Black
Control cavity shielded and grounded[/list]

There are a few nicks on it but nothing that affects playing. Case is this exact model, which Bob cut to specifically fit the Melbertmaster.

If I were to trade, it would be for an 8 String of similar value but something in which I would not need a stand for. Current gigs are in tight spaces right now and I don't foresee that changing. I don't like to sell custom items, but I'm also a one thing in, one thing out type of person.

I've used this on exactly two gigs. The instrument sounds amazing. If you all were to see the tight quarters I'll be gigging in and practicing in for the foreseeable future, I think it would become extremely clear why this is impractical for me at the moment.

I'd also do a six string of comparable quality as a trade.

TTT - Looking for an 8 String preferably. Would consider a six string of considerable quantity.

I have a Melbert New York 8-string that I'm considering trading or selling. I like what Bob's done with his 'Stringmaster' design and I've been toying with having him build me a new one.

Is this guitar close to what you have in mind?

Something like that for sure. Again, it's a space issue for me.
