Sorry to hear this. First met Mike at a steel show in Chattanooga, I think in 2003. I bought a CD from him and he gave me an 8 X 10 photo and said to put it on my mantle to keep the mice away. It's strange the things we remember. Anyways, great person and picker! RIP. Prayers for his family!

This is one of those times in my life that I am fairly certain I would have not crossed paths with this wonderful human being had it not been for that crazy contraption we call a pedal steel. I haven't seen this mentioned but Mike was a terrific vocalist, I liked his singing even more than his guitar playing. He was friendly and accommodating to everyone, so sad to see one of our greats leave us.
