Can't see a problem with daisy-chaining, as long as both effects are time-based. Gain-based effects should always go straight into the front of the amp.

You can put as many as you like, in whatever order you like. FX loop out/send jack >> input jack of first pedal, output jack of first pedal >> input jack of second pedal, output jack of second pedal >> FX loop in/return jack. It's the same as putting pedals between your steel and the amp, no limit on that number either. The signal level in the FX loop is a higher level than the signal coming from your steel, and some effects pedals don't like that. If so, you'll know it because they'll sound distorted.
