Effects Loops on Amps - Front or Rear?

Do you prefer an amplifier's effects loop to be on the front or rear of an amp's chassis? Why?

Peavy makes it look good in front, but if Fender got serious about effects loops (which I wish they would!) on their classic-looking amps, probably better to have them in back.
