Josh Hedley is an outstanding country singer, guitarist, and fiddle player.

I see that Leo Grassl has been playing pedal steel with him lately.

Here is an interesting perspective of him and his Stage One pedal steel guitar:

Neon Blue is one of my favorite new albums. It really hits a niche of late 80s/early 90s country sound that sounds authentic.

And Willie Cantu on drums, I'm assuming he's the same that played with Buck.

Great to see, thanks for posting Jerry!

Here is a loooong video of Leo backing up Josh at Dee's.

As Josh said, "Country music like it used to was."

https://youtu.be/0idA6Sckalg

It may take a couple of minutes for the audio to come on.

Thanks Lee and everyone for the kind words. One day at a time I always say. I love traditional country music. Getting to play with Josh and the other great musicians in the band is the best.

Thanks again, LG

When I heard Leo on a video with Josh, it was not clear what brand of steel he was playing as the picture was blurry. It had such a presence and tone that I initially thought it was a Franklin!!!! Mr. Leo, is your guitar equipped with a stock pickup? If not, what are you using for pickup, pedal, effects, and amplification? If you don't mind sharing.

Hey Mark,

The guitar is one of three of my Stage- Ones. Stock pickup, Hilton pedal, George Ls, Boss Katana 100 Watt amp, and I’m using the onboard reverb on the amp. Thanks for noticing and I’m glad to hear you think the tone is good : ). I love the Stage- Ones. It’s my favorite guitar.

Thanks Mr. Leo!!! So it’s not any mods to the guitar or any “out there” expensive gear!!! It’s the guy playin’ it!!! I hope Mr. Doug is giving you an “endorsement deal”!!!

Thanks Mark! I am not endorsed but keep in mind the stage ones are already priced very low. They are exceptional guitars and Doug should be charging more for them. Doug takes pride in his work and you won’t find a better guy to do business with.

Leo, I’ve been watching your videos with Joshua Hedley with interest as I own an Encore guitar and have just recently purchased a Boss katana 100. Just practicing it at home for now as gigs have been scarce in this Lent season, but i’m pretty darn impressed by it. Light, toneful and versatile as hell. I think it’ll be my go-to amp this year.

Here is a recent live feed of Forumite Leo Grassl backing Josh Headley. He and Nashville guitarist Kevin Key play so well together.

WARNING: Two and half hours of outstanding country music.

Enjoy!
