It is a great comfort to know that even if you play a 30 years old pedal steel and you live on the other side of the world and you need some parts, Jim is there to help you out. It took him a day to make the parts and send them. Then the postal services of the US and the Netherlands took 4 months to get them here. But never mind their delay, Jim is the hero.

Jim is one of the best! I'm usually able to find items I need locally, but when I can't, Jim comes through and he does it quickly and fairly!

Jim Palenscar is the epitome of pedal steel guitar. Jim has helped me out in last minute emergencies on numerous occasions, not a better person on the planet.
We are fortunate to have Jim here! Thank you Jim Palenscar!

I've got no expectations of finding myself on the west coast but I think I'd drop everything to go to wherever he might be if he comes east, just to shake Jim's hand. He's been good to me.

Limited dealings with Jim over the years, but whenever I had a question or a problem Jim would always step up, even if I were not buying something at the time.
Many years ago I was having major issues with a steel that would not stay in tune despite my best efforts.. I felt the body was flexing, or the wood itself was temperamental.

Jim said something that has stuck in my head for many years..never forgot it-

"There are some pieces of wood that have no business being in a steel guitar"

I mean, c'mon, how concise and to the point can you get?..

The steel guitar community has a real good advocate out there on the left coast!...bob

Jim's the best! He recently made a set of gauged nut rollers for my C6 neck and they make a huge difference. And for those of us close enough get togethers at the shop are always great fun!

Jim is a Friend Extraordinaire... none finer. If we lived closer than 2200 miles, we'd be better friends, but a man that will help you, when he lives a long way away... is a Friend INDEED....
