Some cars can go 200 mph
Some can go 100 mph max

Thanks, I didn't know that about the Franklin changer. Certainly a good one then.
I should measure out all the parts in case I want to duplicate it later on.
I've never had a steel that can lower a string that much. Thought 3 half tones up or down was about the limit, but see I was wrong.

Still thinking of a Copedent for this build?
Been playing one of my lap steels tuned to Don Helms A6th 8 string.
Bottom up A C# E G# B C# E G#. Like this a lot and thinking expanding it to 10 string with pedals gives a lot of both E9th & A6th
I wonder if anyone else has had something like this and their thoughts?

Just another beautiful cabinet reworked by Andy. He sold me all the parts to assemble this SD-10 Sho~Bud and I was able to take it from there.
Sounds nice with the Lawrence 605 pickup, and plays easily.

What does the extra pull on the 3rd pedal do?
Will make a nice E9 steel for someone

Thanks Andy, the extra pull rod lowers string 10 to an A. Works nice with string 9 on RKR (C#) and provides a full A6th chord with the root at the bottom.
I don't think I will part with this steel anytime soon, it's too much fun to play, and fairly light. |

Hi Mike,
those racks and the changer cleaned up real nice.
I'll need to pick you brain on how you did that for my one remaining Sho~Bud rebuild.
That is the green one with the 8 ball inlay.
The body on that is all Quilted Maple and White Pearl & Abalone trim on the front apron.
I may just use one of my Gold & White fretboards on this and buy a set of Gold Grovers and Gold Tone and volume knobs to get that Gold and Silver look that I love so much.
I think this would look better than the vinyl replacement one I was planning to use?
Oh yes, And I've been having my A pedal raise the 5th string to C# and lower the 10th string to A for about 4 years now for the same reason.
I'd not thought to add that to the 3rd pedal change instead.
If I did that I could also preserve the 10 string raise B to C# on the 1st pedal because that also offers so many nice things.
The other benefit with this is you can soon play both Emmons and Day pedals without too much trouble.
