Not to forget his contribution to the suite steel album from 1970. The first album to feature the pedal steel as a "pop" instrument.

I was just out of high school and heard Red on the first Michael Nesmith solo record and Buddy and Sneaky on the brown Linda Ronstadt record and went and bought a steel the next week.

There's so many things to like about his playing (inventiveness, taste, humor, etc...) But one specific thing I like about his style is his distinctive vibrato. It's very pronounced but very controlled.

Check out this video of his playing to see his vibrato up close - https://youtu.be/gQ8OcWMibv0?t=78

I'm sorry if it's not ok to do this, but I wanted y'all to be aware that I'm selling one of Red's amps. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=3088054#3088054
If you're in central TX, you could own it. It's one of my favorite amps I've ever owned.
