Arlen (Al) Risbeck passed away at his home in Russell IA in late February. Al was a veteran of the Viet Nam war, and a long time pedal steel guitarist who played in many bands in California, Colorado and Iowa over the years. A generous human being and a fine player, his presence is sorely missed by his old band of cowboys.

I’m sorry to hear this sad news about Al. I bought a used case for my Emmons push pull off of him years ago and he was a great guy to
do business with. My condolences go out to all of his family and friends.

Al was a buddy of mine the last 10 years or so. When we'd play together he'd always let me pick on his push-pull Emmons. Last year when I saw him, he'd sold off the push pulls and bought two single neck Mullen guitars and was really having difficulty breathing. What a guy. We'll miss him.
