New music received unexpected comments

I will first point out that my primary instrument is acoustic and electric guitar but I love lap steel. I'm definitely not nearly as proficient as most of you so I was surprised at the positive comments regarding lap steel that I received following the release of four songs last week.

Only two of the four songs contain steel and people seemed to really like them and I was happy about that but so far the only comment I received about my guitar playing was about tone. One comment.

I can only conclude that the listeners enjoy hearing something different? Is it because music in general is saturated with guitar? Either way it makes me happy that people are liking the lap steel.
