Hi to everyone... has anyone ever used a peavey chorus 400 amp with their pedal steel guitar. Seen one listed and wondering how it would sound. Scorpion speakers are quite reliable as are the peavey amps far as I know but looking for some possible advice. debbie |

Debbie; it would work alright but not be optimum for long term use. A Nashville 400, Vegas 400 , Session 400, 112 etc. would be more suitable for live playing but the Chorus 400 will be a decent starting place. _________________ I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.

Here is the Manual for the Stereo Chorus 400: https://peavey.com/manuals/80300578.pdf
I have one that was turned into a Head.
With the original foot-pedal it is quite versitile.
Alot of tonal headroom and plenty of power/volume.
I have found it sounds good with Steel, Guitar, Banjo, and even with a vocal mic.
I have seen them listed for $75 to $275 U.S. on Craigslist over the years.

I agree with Pete, in that it'll do a pretty good job. It's like a Session 400, but with two 12" speakers and a fairly good chorus. The Scorps are just "okay" for steel, as they're made more for guitar (flatter, w/more mids). If you can get one in good shape for a few hundred, go for it! |
