Don't know which song you mean, but young gun Austin "Hot Rod" Tripp played on a lot of his tunes, both live and on recordings. Great young player.

I helped Austin get his start on the steel. Even underage, I would let him set up beside me at many of my gigs and just say "play boy" and boy did he.
His grandmother would tell me that he would hear me play something and then when they got home at 2am, he would stay up the rest of the night working on that lick, so that the next night he could show me up. hehe

Anyway he has long since left the nest and landed the Jinx gig several years ago.

He is on this forum and will answer your question. Just send him a PM.

Hey Bobby! Yes sir that was me! I’ve played on the last 7 Jinks albums as well as touring with him for the last 6 years. Mercy is definitely one of my favorite albums we’ve cut so far!

Bill, I cherish those memories. I did an interview with Rolling Stones a few years ago and one of the memories I told them was sitting in with you at the VFW, getting home at 4am, setting the steel up and playing the licks you showed me. Then going back to the VFW the next day and learning some more hah! Miss you!

I was in MN. at “The Armory “ with The Randy Rogers Band who has been the opening act with Cody recently and had an opportunity to watch Austin play and he did a great job! That’s a great double bill and both bands are steeped in Texas roots!
