From the 1996 Smoky Mountain Jamboree, Knoxville, TN USA
Here is one that is going to be a real treat to you.
In almost every video that I post, you see this gentleman sitting near the steeler with his rhythm guitar. He would sit on that stage for hours and hours playing rhythm and alway have a smile on his face.
Many do not know that he is an absolute Legend in the steel guitar world (non-pedal). He played in many of the old cowboy movies and other early radio broadcasts.
Here he is playing a pedal steel (first time I heard him do this).
Also, he brought on stage a brand new steeler (in 1996) named Travis Cooper. Leonard was/is all about getting youngsters interested in playing music.
Now in 2021, Leonard is 97 years yound and still going strong, although he no longer plays music away from the house.
Enjoy one of the best friends I've ever had/known. One of the kindest, most gentle people on God's earth.
