Luana as recorded by the great Dick Mcintire. Played here on a Gold Tone LS6 Lap Steel Guitar tuned EBDGBD low to high. Backing created with Tenor Ukulele and Ukulele style bass.
Still trying to emulate that great tone and feel of Dick Mcintire, a lifetimes work I imagine.
I hope you all enjoy,
Mike

Excellent, Mike. Nice slants, harmonics, and "doo-wah" with the tone control. You really nailed this one!

Nice Mike, that tuning down a step makes for a nice mellow tone. Smile

Thank you all for watching and commenting!
Chris, The amp is a little Yamaha THR10 home amplifier which includes the speakers. Only about 10 watts so not a gigging amp. It includes a digital effects processor. The important thing though is it sounds great for steel guitar. I set it on its acoustic setting most of the time for steel guitar. I also record direct to a PC via USB for my videos. A great little home amp!
Doug, Erv thank you for your comments. The rubber band is definitely an amateur work around but it does help. It is on the volume pot not the tone pot. When the guitar was reassembled after changing the pickup and pots the volume control ended up on the top side of the guitar. I just left it there......I was to lazy to change it back😃!
Jim, I am sure the tuning must add to the guitars warmth but I think the guitar in general is warm sounding!

First; awesome playing. I really enjoy your videos.
I also have a THR10ii amp. I love it! Works great for steel and guitar and basically everything. IMO, one of the best sounding practice amps made.
I've tried the acoustic setting on piezo equipped instruments (silent violin; Uke) and was underwhelmed.
It never occurred to me to try the acoustic setting for steel until I read your post. Well; I tried it and dang.....it is a good steel setting. I can't believe I never tried that until now. (I feel a bit dumb!)
I almost always use the clean setting and occasionally put a slight overdrive pedal in front or a a delay pedal. (EHX Soulfood pedal works well). Thanks for the tip!

Hi John. The little Yamaha sounds great in my opinion for clean Lap Steel sounds. I have no idea what mojo Yamaha have put in this little amp but I really like the sound!
