I recently purchased a remington steel with a pf-1 pickup that I do not like at all, and was hoping someone could help me find a single coil pickup that would fit the guitar..TIA.

Herb had several configurations of pickup mountings. Both in pedal steels and lap/console steels.

It all depends on the design and mounting system on your existing one

A description, as in wide mount or narrow mount and/or a photo of your pickup mounting would be helpful in recommending a replacement.

If possible to find, a used Truetone would be great.

Also Telonics as well as Scott Swartz have some fine looking pickups but I don't know if they offer single coils.
