Looking for an original bobbin or pickup for a vintage Rickenbacker 8-string lap steel. If no leads can anyone recommend a legit pickup genie who can custom make one?

Jason Lollar is making an 8 string horseshoe pickup now. I have no idea if he would sell you parts, but it’s worth checking out. |

If you have a good pair of magnets, that's the most expensive part. I'm sure one of the custom pickup builders like Lollar, Brantley, Sentell, etc. could build and wind a bobbin for less than $200. I like using Tom Brantley for rewinds and I know he does some custom work as well but he's on the other side of the continent from you. If whoever you use needs bobbin dimensions, I've got an 8-string project guitar (Rickenbacker) that I could take some measurements from. |

Todd Clinesmith makes a really nice sounding 8 string horseshoe pickup, that he uses in his guitars. I love mine...so he is at least equipped to make the parts but you'd have to check with him to see if he sells "a la carte". _________________ Waikīkī, at night when the shadows are falling
