My humble rendition of Wills Point by Buddy Emmons. I referenced the 1997 ISGC video on YouTube to learn this one. Could use a little more polish in spots, but then again, I'm not Buddy Emmons! Thank you for listening!

Andy, I'd say you got it!! Enjoyed that for sure.
That is a cool song, it always reminded me of the perfect, "we're gonna take a 15 minute break" announcement song for a band! Great job! JK

Good job. Very creative. Don't worry about playing it note for note like Buddy Emmons. There's way too much copycat stuff already going on. Make it your own, as you did. Good tone and video.

Thanks all for the kind words and support!

I've always wondered if the title referred to Wills Point, TX, or as I understand, Bob Wills had a club in California names Wills Point. Anybody know for sure?

Great performance again Andy! I enjoyed that. I live not very far from Will's Point, Tx. in Tyler, Tx. and pass right by it all the time on my way to Dallas on I-20. I have an old girlfriend that still lives there but I don't know why anyone would write a song about it. Must be about Bob Wills. You know Bob would point his fiddle bow at a musician in his band when he wanted a musician to start playing. That's how he directed the band and since Buddy was a huge Will's fan and this song has a Texas swing beat I'd bet that it's about Bob Will's. Will's Point, Tx. could be about Bob Wills too. He owned a few honky tonks here or had the house band around this area for many years.

Could have been Bob Wills club in Sacramento. It was called "Wills Point".1947. Who knows...
