I've seen a lot of you guys useless part from a computer PC to hook up your power cord on your effects rack and I was wondering if one of you guys could help me figure out the correct way to solder the wires on to it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm just using a standard power strip and that is what I'm wanting to solder own do they part.

The way you're holding it the white wire or neutral
should go on the top pin and the black wire should
be on the bottom pin. Solder them on just like the
ground wire is soldered on center pin.

Carl may or not be right, but that is not the concern here.
There are too many red flags flying up in this topic to even start with.
Take your project IN PERSON to someone who knows what they're doing.
It'll be fixed in 5 minutes and nothing will blow up, or worse. |

if you look closely at that connector it's labeled on the solder side:
L - line
N - neutral (thats the one near your thumb on the photo with the solder side showing)
but if you are confused maybe don't do this task because you can definitely blow some stuff up if they are backwards!

It wi9ll work great wired either way.
But it may be totally unsafe. You MUST check your wall outlets Many older houses have reversed hot and neutral and/or a ground socket that has no ground wire attached to it.
Buy an outlet tester for $7 at a hardware store and test every socket you plug into - home or clubs or whatever. I the outlet is wrong or not grounded you need to use a ground fault interruptor - or don't plug in if it'ws not saqfe.
