Hi team. I've been offered this Fender, stored in an attic ten years. I've been looking for an eight string PSG for a while to replace a Guyatone I let go (home use, all I need)
It looks fairly well-used, I'm just wondering if there's anything missing from the bridge area? Something doesn't look quite right to me... should there be a bridge cover?
Any advice/comments appreciated. Four pedals, one knee lever btw.

You are correct. It’s missing the bridge cover. I can’t remember if the 400’s came with string mutes, so possibly those are missing but neither of those affect the playability. The pickup is not original.

| Thanks for the fast reply Dave. I've never seen a 400 close-up..those aluminium plates around the bridge look weird, almost home-made! Are they standard? The seller is looking for 500 euro (about $590)...maybe it has rarity value (over here at least lol!) |

i think that is a very fair price. it would sell quickly if it were in the usa at that price. fenders are an acquired taste and require a small bit of mechanical aptitude to get running right. that being said, they are rugged and a blast to play. i certainly cherish mine. if you like to tinker a bit and find satisfaction in working on your own guitars this might be for you. and as obsolete as some would have you believe a fender steel is, i am guessing it would be a step up from the guyatone.

No aluminum there, those plates are chrome-plated steel, and they're stock Fender pieces. Cosmetically, it's a little beat, and not really rare...but it's well worth that price.

| Also worth mentioning, the pickup is non original and is larger than the stock piece (so some routing was done to accommodate this pu). |

If the undercarriage isn't a train wreck, I'd buy it! Total tone machine and you can work on it yourself without worry.

I added knee levers to mine |
