I had some bluegrass buddies over this weekend for a little jam. I only wanted to play bass and I took my Nashville 1000 since I don't have a bass amp anymore. I know it's not a bass amp but I thought it would be fine because I was the only electric instrument and we weren't very loud.

I plugged in Fender Jazz V into both the hi and lo input and got very little sound. Same with my upright that has a pickup.

When I plugged into the send/return section, I had some volume. So I figure there's something wrong in the preamp section.

Anyone ever had this problem? What's the solution?

Thanks in advance.

spray contact cleaner in all the inputs.
Plug and un-plug a cord several times.
Do the same with the send receive jacks. You can run the send straight back in to receive with a cord also as that will take their internal contacts out of the signal path.
May fix it, may not,,,but its easy and very low cost! JE:-)>
