I have seen several very good deals on these in the past year or so and unfortunately just decided now to go ahead with one. Preferably with over-height legs and rods, and more than the stock 3/4 configuration. Legs and pedals can be added though.

Any suggestions for a professional model sd10 with similar weight rating and reputation as the GFI of would be considered as well. (I need the double body to get the knee levers far enough back because I wear size 14 shoes and boots which push my knees almost out from under the steel body. Otherwise I would just get a single wide guitar.)

Good luck. I just ordered a new Ultra SD-10. Two to three month wait.

I looked at some of the other brands and the only one I found (listed weight) similar to GFI was the Williams.

It's been a few months back, but I bought an Expo SD-10 from Billy Cooper's by mail order. At that time, he had a number of Ultra and Expo guitars on his showroom floor, ready to ship. Good customer service, quick installation of LKV kit and tunable split, packaged real well and delivered to my front door.

That guitar made a round trip. Marshfield (GFI) isn't too far from Columbia.
