Was there in overlap period when both were marketed?

Jack,

Based upon all of the Emmons guitars that have passed through my hands, my best guess would be about 1975. It seems like that's about when the little angle bracket that the pin dropped through disappeared form the pedal bar channel.

As a side note; a fixed pin volume pedal can be used on the the earlier guitars. All one needs to do is temporarily remove the little angle bracket, flip it over and reattach it. This will provide adequate clearance for attaching the pedal and now the bracket and screws won't get misplaced.
