I believe the tone pot on my Emmons LeGrande D10 needs to be replaced. It wasn't working when I got the instrument. Switching between "direct" and "tone circuit", there is no difference in sound. Occasionally when I make the switch, I hear a slight difference in the tone, but when I adjust the pot, the sound just jumps back to the "direct" sound.

Question: what replacement part should I use for the tone pot? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Run a wire between the posts on the defeat switch, and see if that's the problem. If so, you can pick one up at Autozone or any auto parts store for 4 or 5 dollars. If it's not that, it could be the tone pot, although they rarely break. If it's the tone pot, you can order one from StewMac's. Since the neck selector switch is working, that shouldn't be the problem. Let me know if you need any help.

Doug, you're speaking like the guy who built this guitar. Wait a minute... you ARE the guy who built this guitar!! Very Happy

I ran a wire between the posts, as described, but it did not change anything. Still no change in tone coming from the tone circuit.

Next step, change out the tone pot. Question is, which one?

Tony,
Try a 250K pot. StewMac has them. It's the same as a Telecaster.
