Got one in my possession that I hope to get up and running
One pickup read a direct short. Cable was shorted at the 1/4†male jack. Got it fixed
All three pickups read around 1/2 meg ohms of dc resistance.
I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge they might share about the pickups
I get no output thru the unit with the pickups. I am getting 9 volts to the three circuit boards for sure |

All three string inputs work with a guitar used as the pickup. So it appears I have 3 dead original pickups
Awesome fix tones for sure ðŸ‘
Any info on them appreciated
In also going to change the DC power supply jack to a standard barrel style to allow use of a common pedal board supply |

That should be a fun exploration, Ken! Love to hear what you get out of it when it's up and running. _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

Interesting pickups. Three wires and a shield. The three wires are all tied together and connect to the tip of the 1/4†male plug. I’m wondering if there are three small coils or perhaps this is a piezo pickup considering the high dc resistance reading |

Not piezo for sure. The one that was shorted had the wires pulled of the pickup coil and were shorted. Not repairable
Going to need a pickup |

Got three new single coil / single string pickups located and ordered
The two that are working no doubt are open coil. Generated a weak and thin signal when a break occurs in the winding. Seen this three other times over the years |

Decided to send all three original pickups to Tom Brantley Rewinding in North Carolina
He worked under Lindy Fralin in the past. Knows his stuff
I have A T60 Peavey that came out of Buddy Emmons estate sale. Was given to him by Carl Perkins. Almost mint but had a weak pickup in the bridge position. Tom rewound it to perfection. |
