Anybody follow Rick Beato on YouTube? He has a list of top 20 musical inventions that is very thought provoking. I thought this might be some dumb list like David Letterman or something but no, it’s worthy of a college lecture. The number one invention was so obvious but I didn’t think of it until it was presented.

You’re welcome. How many of y’all had patience to sit thru 20 minutes ? Most of the time I don’t. The number one invention was standardized musical notation and Gutenberg’s printing press BTW

Just watched this and will watch it again tonight with my wife. Really interesting and important.
Not to high jack the thread, but there’s a fantastic movie called “Tom Dowd and The Language of Music” that is fantastic.
