Thanks for posting, Lee. That song always takes me back to my Texas days. It seemed to be in the air no matter where you went.
The 'Songs Around the World' series is well done. I enjoyed the one with Robbie Robertson singing 'The Weight' with a cast of thousands. OK, dozens. They did not ruin that song... |

Superb! Lee, that might be a Cuban guitar variation called a cuatro? _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

Michael Nesmith tried a version of this but he thought it was One Ton Tomato. Wasn’t near as nice as this.... _________________ MCI Arlington S-10 3+5, George L E-66, BJS & Emmons bars, Fender Princeton 65W, Fender Satellite SFX, custom FX rack, 1983 Dobro 60D, SX-8 lap steel, Martin D16GT, Ibanez AS73, 1978 Rickenbacker 4000 custom. |

Looks like an old Harmony or something. Manuel Galban is an interesting player. He was the musical director of a Cuban doo-wop vocal group in the 50s called Los Zafiros that are worth checking out.
Thanks for posting.
Always something cool in the "music" threads. |
