I got to sit in with Bud on steel a couple of times in the sixties or seventies (I can't remember which) when he lived in SoCal for awhile. He was working at the Skylite Club in Compton, Ca. six nights a week and I was working with a band that did military bases on weekends but also played at the Skylite on Sunday afternoons and Monday nights. Sometimes on sunday I'd stay over and jam with the band. I remember that Bud was also a pretty smooth vocalist too. Of his recorded stuff I liked his work on the LP "A Session with Chet Atkins" on RCA Victor records especially his ride on "Caravan"....Very tasty! RIP Bud, you were a good un...JH in Vz.

I agree with you Jerry.. I bought the "Session" album when it came out, mainly to hear Chet, but everything Bud did on the album was 'Top Shelf'.. I guess you could say that about every song he did..
