When a player finds the combo platter of a particular electric instrument and amp that seem to particularly compliment each other, it can be a magical experience. I've come across a few notable examples that seem to surpass all the rest since my very first Airline guitar and amplifier in the mid-sixties.

Some select examples:
1965 Gibson Firebird V and 1967 Ampeg B-12XT;
1973 Emmons D-10 and 1977 Peavey LTD 400;
1980s American Standard Strat and 1966 Fender Tremolux.

My latest fave is a 1958 Gibson Ultratone and a 1979 Fender Champ... whoa, Nellie!
