I have a 1970 Marlen in good working order that I am thinking about trading for an All Pull. I am newer at the steel and think the All Pull would be better for me right now. I might be sorry later, but just checking to see if trading would make sense. The Marlen has a few dings and some wear but is in pretty nice shape overall (no case). Emmons set up, converted from Day.

Ok thanks. Yes that serial number read backwards either misplaced 7 or you misplaced typing...ha...but read it backwards should be: 197074 which is indeed "1970year""7july""4day".
Very nice; at that time; Leonard and Marvin were in the middle of building "Speedy West" models; is why used "Marlen Custom Guitars" plate instead of under lacquer sticker.
This will be a very good playing "Pull-release" system.
Very nice.; oh and I'll have to add my little nerdy two-cents....NO ALL pull pedal steel will even come close to sounding as good as this MARLEN....>PERIOD!!!
(but yes; it's tricky to get a good balance on tuning.

I don't know much, but I think that's a reasonable trade offer. I love my '74 Marlen; if I had an all-pull I'd make the trade! _________________ Marlen S12 and a ZT Club |

Having the switches and wiring repaired/replaced, I noticed some bad solder joints that need attention. |

I love my 76 Marlen D-10. Mine is a "Pull-Release". Plays great and sounds great. I also have an all pull Emmons Legrande II. I love them both for different reasons.
You have a great looking Marlen there. Best wishes. _________________ 1973 Sho-Bud LDG-Round Front (3&4), 1976 Marlen D-10 (8&4), Emmons Legrande II (8&6), Marlen and Jim Dunlop Bars, Sho-Bud Volume, Emmons Volume, 1983 Peavey Nashville 400, 1989 Peavey Nashville 400, Quilter Steelaire, Catalinbread Belle Epoch Analog Delay, Peterson Strobo Plus HD Tuner, National and Herco Thumbpicks, National Fingerpicks |

Hi Mike, I've got a '74 MSA Classic S10 all pull that I would consider trading, I love the pull release tone AND I've been looking for a double 10 |

I would be interested in trading the Marlen for a MSA (D10) Lacquer finish XL or Classic? Others considered. |
