So every 3 years or so my seat foam starts to wear out and I buy a new piano bench for $60.
Trying to find a stiffer more durable foam seat I tried this one from rockville audio.
It is super stiff but after setting on it for a while I believe it is superior and half price.
Might be worth it to just get the foam.

I've had to rebuild my steel seat a few times after using the standard foam from local stores. I ordered some high density foam and no problems anymore.

I made my pack a seat over 40 years ago. I used what the foam store called super foam. It weighs like normal foam soaking wet. It's still nice and firm, unlike myself. You older guys will get my drift.

“Wings and wheels” produces parts and components for light aircraft. Google their website, then search the page for seat foam. They have some high density foam that works really well for seats. They ship fast, too.

Try going to an auto upholstery shop. That's where I went when I rebuilt my pack a seat I also got some royal blue crushed velvet that I recovered it with. You could also try a fabric store.

I regret using conventional foam for my seat. It collapses.
I should have used artificial horsehair.

Strange this came up as just a few days ago I was working around my Steelers Choice seat. I laid a couple items on it and just noticed how firm the cushion is. Feels almost rigid, hardly any give when pushing down with my hand, super supportive, yet very comfortable to sit on for hours.

If I were looking to replace cushion foam, I'd try to find out what Dan uses for his cushions. I can't imagine anything could be better.

I can recover you seats and/or replace the foam. I can order foam with several densities.

This is the stiffest foam I have ever seen.
Feels like it is too stiff but after sitting awhile... not bad.
Way better than too soft.

I second your opinion. My Steeler’s Choice has been through a couple owners before i got it and its still holding up great. Yes feels very hard and firm to the hand but cushy to the behind when you sit. As Goldylocks said “Ahhhh....this one is juuuuust right!”
